War Poet.ca - A CFAP Project by Suzanne Steele

there is something strangely comforting about the veil, something sheltering, and the relative anonymity it grants one is rather interesting. from a practical point of view, the veil protects from dust, filth, wind, excess heat, and scrutiny. it also makes one disappear to an extent. having said that, more than one man has commented that seeing only the woman’s eyes is extremely powerful. I look at this woman’s eyes and wonder what they say about her, about what she sees, what she has seen, what she is thinking, as she is driven out of Wainwrightistan and reenters the no duff world.
