old songs from old wars

with MP3s, YouTube, instamusic all times, I wonder what the tunes of this war might be? I’ve sung Nora Jones’ ‘Wish I Could” (“They say love in a time of war’s not fair”). Robert Cray has a good blues tune (“When you’re used up soldier where do you go?”… “Mother dry your eyes”…)

in LAVs I’ve heard everything from SlipKnot to Ella Fitzgerald.

lately, my mother has been singing Kiss Me Goodnight Sgt Major and for some reason I can’t get the old WWII tune out of my head. funny. I love those old tunes.
