Lazarus (3)

love conquers all

the man, the man,
her watery tattoo’d man
splays dreamless
in pink and blue land;
he is her furnace,
deep winter, the war
within us, he snores
softly, softly, she lies
sleepless, softly, softly,
sentries over him;
with her head
on his pierced warrior breast
he sleeps o so sound
forgets to lock and barricade
the windows, the front door
the man, her man,
her watery tattoo’d man
dreamless, dreamless.
