cards

in the field there’s lots of go time, but also lots of stop time. and the boys have electronica up the yin yang to play. they carry laptops. I’ve seen them in the middle of A’stan on FB. but inevitably, soldiers will play cards. here’s one of the games I could never figure out how to play

the first time I heard about this game was on the Karl G range at Shilo. a bunch of engineers were hived off with their LAV parked away from the infantry. I walked over and said hi and asked them what game they were playing. they made me a cup of coffee (engineers always have good coffee and gucci rigs for making coffee) and tried to explain how to play Asshole. maybe some day I’ll have a chance to really learn. it kept them going for hours and hours.
