beloveds how

could I say, it wasn’t you but rather, this road I take? eyes focussed on footsteps ahead, not behind. beware the absence of normal, the presence of the abnormal. I look for wires. piles of sticks. rocks. electronics. under dirt disturbed. in forest. grassland. the late summer earth. arcs futured. not past. only war. shiny. shiny metal. crows in the rowan. picking our berries. one by one. until now. we are bare. now, I must go. now, over there. now, ‘til it’s done.
